Projet :

Faced with the increasing demands for electrictiy and load charge, where the demand for electricity peak loads is increasing, the ONE (National Office for Electricty) has decided on a STEP programme. The first plant of this type, the Afourer station was commissioned in 2005.

  • A lower basin

The Smir STEP centre is located in the Tetouan region and consists of:

  • An upper basin
  • A low pressure gallery
  • A surge chamber
  • A steel-lined shaft
  • A reinforced horizontal gallery
  • An exterior penstock
